Tubah Municipality is said to benefit from The World Bank’s Safety Net Project with the sum of 180 million CFA Franc through emergency cash transfers to 1000 households in the 4 main villages of Tubah over a period of 6 months.
The chosen 1000 households will be the result of 48 peer educators recruited to identify poor persons within all Tubah Communities. The eventual benefactors will receive a total sum of 180,000frs which is broken down to them receiving 30,000frs each 6 times, over a period of 6 months.
This information was passed on in a meeting convened by the Safety Net Regional Coordination team on August 18 2021. A steering committee had to be chosen that will oversee the implementation of the Safety Net project which is aimed to alleviating poverty and to classify Tubah villages from poorest to poor and better strategized penetration.

The steering committee member selection, covered all sectors of Tubah Council Area such as administration, religion, youth affairs, social welfare, education, agriculture and more to ensure inclusion at all levels.

Mayor Tanjong Martin expressed gratitude to the World Bank’s Safety Net Project coordinators in Cameroon for choosing Tubah Municipality which has grown to have a very dynamic population due to the presence of the University of Bamenda and internally displaced persons. In his words “this project will greatly assist needy persons in Tubah to transform their daily Community life and in turn empower them to move up from the poverty line.”
