Promoting improved governance of sustainable natural resource management
This project dubbed the “1400 Project “has as its general objective to promote improved governance of sustainable natural resource management in Cameroon’s forests. It is being implemented by the
Association of Council Forest of Cameroon (AFCAM) and the Technical center for Council Forest (CTFC) . The Council gets 14,000 forest seedlings and 2100 fruit seedlings which are distributed among the water
management schemes of Kedjom Ketinguh, Kedjom Keku, Finge, Bambui, Bambili and Sabga. These management schemes will nurse and grow water friendly trees around water catchments to preserve soil water and protect the catchments from animals and human activity. This activity falls into the second phase of the project and is budgeted for 12.4 million francs with 5.7 million from AFCAM and 6.7 million from Council Contributions.
Mayor Tanjong Martin
This project was awarded to Mayor Tanjong in 2017 during his visit to France. The first phase was the establishment of orchards in main villages making up Tubah and that phase is still ongoing due to hitches from the Anglophone crises. The water scheme managers are committed to making this second phase run hitch free by communicating its importance as much as possible and involving the Community at every stage of the process.
